Jamais Vu

The 1985 Macintosh version of the detective noir adventure game “Déjà Vu” had game UI elements that were indistinguishable from other UI elements of the Macintosh finder. This comic plays with the idea of file system windows signifying both hierarchy and containership, and also time (as in comic strip frames). It uses the visual language of the early Macintosh and Film Noir and videogame tropes to triangulate on ideas of memory and identity.
